If you are an entrepreneur who is trying to sell products and/or services online, you’ve probably contemplated the idea of launching a podcast. After all, you’ve probably heard that podcasting is one of the best ways to build a relationship with your audience, and that it leads to the highest conversion rate of all forms of content marketing.
I was in that same boat. In fact, I’ve been contemplating launching a podcast for a few months now. But this week was a little different for me because everything seemed to fall in place in such a way that I could no longer ignore the little voice in my head saying “do it, go on”.
So this is how it went down.
- First, I came across this statistic: 85% of people trust content made by others more than they trust brands’ content. Something about that just gave me confidence in the fact that there are people out there who would be interested in what I have to say. It also made me realize the importance of just sharing your journey with people so they know the person behind the brand.
- Second, my husband said that we should do a business brainstorm.
- Third, I decided to record the conversation we had.
- And finally… well, listen in for yourself and hear the moment when our podcast idea was born. This was recorded using Voice Memos on my iPhone so please excuse the poor quality, I tried to clean it up the best I could.
I wanted to involve you all in the process because as an ancient Chinese philosopher wisely pointed out:
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I will learn.
